Once, this traditional 100% natural rope, was the rope of choice. Stronger, and more rot resistant than other natural ropes, this rope is suitable for a whole range of applications.
Unlike natural manila rope, and natural sisal rope, natural hemp is a very soft and nice to handle rope, this gives it the edge of other natural fibre ropes. For generations, this rope has been widely used as a climbing rope in school gymnasiums and sports halls.
If you require a natural hard wearing rope, then look no further. Hemp rope is the perfect choice where handling is to occur, thanks to its soft lay.
Natural hemp has long been the primary rope for marine uses, ships, and rigging.
Unlike some of our competitors, we, at RopeServices UK only offer 100% natural hemp rope. We see a lot of people selling the cheaper version, known as "flax hemp".
Natural ropes, such as hemp, is very popular in macrame, arts & crafts, and theatres, for the lifting and suspension of scenery.
If you're thinking about using any natural rope outdoors, please be aware that because of their natural fibres, these ropes will shrink in length and expand in girth when wet, unless treated with decking oil prior to installation.
At RopeServices UK, we offer synthetic versions of our natural ropes. These types of rope have the edge over naturals, as they are manufactured to look like the natural version. We would recommend looking at our synthetic hemp rope if you require a natural looking rope to be used outdoors.
All synthetic ropes are waterproof and do not require treatment before placing outside. Some of our synthetic decking ropes are also cheaper than the natural version, as some natural fibres are becoming harder to source.
