When making bannister ropes we measure from the inside of each man rope knot. You will need to take this into consideration when measuring. Each Knot is roughly 7cm (3 Inches)
It is advisable that wooden mounts are used with all handrail brackets to add extra strength to the fitting.
For a corner you would have a bracket about 6 to 8 inches away from the wall each end.
If you would like add a drape to your bannister we would recommend adding between 5% and 10% to the total length of the Rope.
We recommend using one bracket every metre.
If you order 24mm Rope you would need 24mm fittings. This is the same for all order fittings and rope range.
All our fittings are designed to fit our rope. We can not guarantee that our fittings will fit rope bought else where.
We would recommend using a Synthetic Rope for decking. Natural Decking Rope will shrink and expand over time if not treated. (Please see Natural Rope Treatment Page). Please allow an extra 15% for natural rope.
