Is the eye measurement the diameter of the eye, or the length when straight?
The eye measurement refers to the length when under tension, measured from bearing point to bearing point, not the diameter of the eye.

I require these ropes as door tie backs consequently only need them a maximum of one metre- is this possible?
Yes, that’s no problem at all!
I’ve updated the listing so you can now configure lengths as short as 1 metre, which will be perfect for using the ropes as door tie backs.
